Fellow Moguls in the making Jess and I have changed the structure of our daily creation calls a bit.  We wanted you to be able to rely on a set format and plan accordingly so our new format is:

  1. Create our possibility for the day
  2. Review status of previously stated actions
  3. Create new actions
  4. Switch person and repeat 1-3 (I anticipate each person taking about 7 minutes)
  5. Free flow about what we are learning  (about 10 Minutes)
  6. COMING IN JULY – 5 minutes of Q&A with Jess and I.  In July we will open up the lines for the last 5 minutes of our call for some Q&A, so that you have an opportunity to bring your question, concern, comments and/or observations on your journey or ours to the daily creation calls.

Let us know what you think of the new format.  Our hope is that these calls are of value to you as well as us.  And don’t worry you won’t hurt our feelings with constructive criticism.  I LOVE these calls and we would do them with or without listeners;)  LOVE YOU GUYS!

Has it happened?  Could she have found a house?  This morning Jessica is on fire about two things: 1) two houses were listed yesterday that are exactly what she is looking for and by Tuesday (our next daily creation call) she is going to share with us that her offer has been accepted.  2) Today is the day that the letter is served.  I need say no more about that one.  During this call Jess also talks about the joy of being clear in your vision of what you want to do with your life.

Last night was ladies entrepreneur night for me and man was it valuable.  I have a new job-ortunity – YAY!  I also made plans or promises rather for this weekend.   A clean house is a clear mind – mission number one clean mi casa!  I also promise to chat with the dad and create a 3 month plan.

This is it folks.  The first day of the rest of your life.  What are you doing today?  What are you committed to completing this weekend?

Please check out the call and have a great weekend:)

Jessica is back in action and boy did I miss her.

On today’s call I talk about synergy and the joy and power of not “going it alone.”  I don’t know about you, but lone-rangering for me often equals lonely failure eventually.  I also recap what I learned in my conversation with a life coach about what it takes to become a life coach.   Long and short of that – Life coaching may be a future vision for me, but I believe my fiscal constraints eliminate it as a now option for me.

Jessica shares about her trip to San Francisco where she realized that sometimes being committed to something does not mean that you are the one to make a difference in that area.  As a result of that realization she had discovered that the area she really wants to make a difference in is addiction.  She also shares about finishing The Catcher in the Rye and a book about natural child-birth.

If you want to hear more – check out the link above, and let us know what you are committed to getting done TODAY!

Ohhh and this is the video I was talking about with the men simulating labor pain.  Check it out!  It is hilarious.

Jessica has a sinus infection so its all me, all creation call!  During this call I share the joy of figuring out how to get our MITM daily creation calls uploaded to iTunes podcasts.  Yes, soon you will be able to subscribe to Mogul in the  Making through the podcasts app on your smart phone.  HOW COOL IS THAT!

I also discuss the power of language.  Our world is created in language and the tiniest shifts in what we say make the hugest difference.  One word really does make a difference, in what you say to others and really what you say to yourself.

Are you keeping your promises?  I haven’t been.  The good news is – I have not been a bad person about it.  On this call I distinguish the difference between and the impact of having breaking promises = I’m a bad person.  A word of wisdom here.  To live an extraordinary life you have to make promises you don’t know how to keep.  It is just the nature of being extraordinary.  And if you are making big promises that you don’t know how to keep – you are going to break them at times.  If you can learn from that mistake and use it as a platform to learn from, you are a genius.

Next time you hear the words “I failed” or “I’m such a failure” come out of your mouth I want you to:

  1. STOP
  2. Let that go!
  3. Say “Thank you for teaching me all that I need to succeed.” to the Universe.
  4. Tell yourself, “I am always succeeding or learning.  That was a powerful lesson.  Looks like I am one step closer to keeping my promise.”

Thank you guys for following.  Let me know the last time you learned something new, or what you are getting our of tuning in.  LOVE YOU!

Happy Monday!  On this show I share about this weekend, which was a HUGE weekend for me, because 1) It is the second to last weekend before I leave my job and 2) I spent it with Lisa Nichols and the cast of the Speak and Write to Make Millions Seminar.

In this episode of the MITM Daily Creation Call I share what I have been getting out of the Speak and Write Seminar, interviewing someone to replace me when I leave my job, living my life waiting for other people to give me for permission, making up my future, and broken promises.  I also asked that you, those of you who are listening to the live episodes and reading our blog, let us know what you like, what you don’t like, who you are, what you find useful and what you want going forward.

We really do what this to be of value to you, so please let us know what you find valuable.  LOVE YOU!

Investing in yourself first

I was listening to Entrepreneur on Fire the other day and David Wood was talking about investing in yourself, and he was not joking around.  You need to be investing in your most valuable resource – YOU!

This weekend I am doing exactly that.  I am investing in myself, in that lump of pink grey mass that sits between my ears:)  Nice visual isn’t it!

This weekend I am spending 3 days with Lisa Nichols and her Motivating the Masses support team at their annual conference Speak and Write to Make Millions.  And let me tell you this event is nothing shy of great.  The way I ended up at the conference was magical, the timing of the conference was perfect and the value its providing is priceless.

SpeakWriteAbout 4-5 months ago I was volunteering at an event.  I had been feeling somewhat uninspired in my day job and thinking about how I could make a bigger impact on the day-to-day.  I am watching people share when this amazingly eloquent lady steps to the microphone and starts talking in her sultry voice about how blessed she is to work with such a wonderful cast of people and have a life where she reaches and motivates thousands.  I was interested.  I wouldn’t normally go up and talk to her, but I had this feeling inside of me, like it was a line of demarcation or something.  It was an opportunity to either walk toward my destiny or shrink away from it, and I chose the former.  In what felt like a really bold move, I introduced myself to her and said that I would love to chat sometime if she was open to it.

2 weeks later we had a phone call.  I asked her questions about her life, job and journey; and she offered a ticket to Speak and Write.  As the event neared, with this new promise to leaving the day job and becoming an entrepreneur, I reached out to her and voila – I received a hugely discounted ticket in;-)  Connections make the world go round.

Fast forward to today, day 1 of the conference   We covered a lot of ground and it is late so I can’t share it all with you, but I can tell you some of the key take aways or golden nuggets.

  • The self-development industry is a $210B industry – HOLY HECK get in on this pie
  • Your potential customer’s lack of resources does not determine your value!
  • When you are truly connected to your audience you check in with them and see if their needs are being met.
  • Convictions and convenience do not live in the same sentence.  Are you willing to give for your dreams?
  • A book is simply an expensive business card.  But it can be very valuable for brand leveraging.
  • Hire people who are going to lead, not follow.
  • Pyrrhic victory is when the cost of the victory outweighs the victory itself – watch out for this.
  • Your Unique Selling Proposition (USP) allows you to determine who you to craft your core message, because it captures who you are and what you stand for.
  • When you talk to people and network lead with the benefit or result that you provide and what you need, vice what you do.

Please leave a comment and let me know: What are you doing to invest in yourself?  What have you found that is really valuable?

Empower half hour with Jess and I.  During this show Jessica discusses her freaked-out, I-hate-the-world panic and the subsequent AHA! moment she had.  Her upcoming weekend trip and the value of listening to her husbands advice.  It turns out he really has been listening to what she has been saying.  Good work Tom;)

I discuss the value of sharing your dreams with the people in your life, the collaboration that is possible when you tell people what you are up to, the book The Power by Rhonda Byrne and the law of attraction.  I also do a little rap/singing.  Don’t worry about showering me with praise, I know I am a talented lyricist!

I am so pumped about this extraordinary life that we get to live.  Thank you for being on this journey of self discovery with us.  I will never shut-up about how much I love you, because I am not sure you will ever REALLY get how much it means that I get to be part of this blog and your life.
